Grab a boat and join the Cooks River’s largest flotilla!

One part parade, one part paddle adventure, the boat flotilla is a Wurridjal Festival event that is not to be missed. The flotilla will launch at the River Canoe Club in Tempe at 10am. The procession will paddle up river towards Ewen Park. Along the way, a soundtrack will be provided by Sunny Bins!

Don’t have a boat? You can hire kayaks, canoes and life vests from the River Canoe Club or Cooks River Kayaks. Basic canoe or kayak experience is necessary.

10:30am Acknowledgement of Country, Orientation Briefing

11:00am Launch!

12-1pm Picnic at Ewen Park. Coffee provided by Cooks River Kayaks.

 

Getting there:

 

Public Transport

The Canoe Club is a short 5 minute walk from Tempe train station. For timetables and more info, check out transport.info.

Active Transport:

The Club is conveniently located along the Cooks River Cycleway. Visitors can walk, cycle or scoot from Tempe train station to the east or Dulwich Hill train station to the north. Bike racks are available at the Concordia Club.

Car:

Limited parking is available in the car park beside Concordia Club. Part of the car park will be closed during the event. It is recommended to take public transport, active transport or a ride share service.
