Have you ever wanted to try an e-bike but are not sure where to start? Hop on a test bike and experience the joy of car-free movement along the Cooks River during Wurridjal Festival.
Experienced bike riding guides from Lug + Carrie will be on hand to show you how to ride on the Cooks River shared cycleway.
Guided rides will leave from Steel Park. The route and duration will vary (expect around 20 minutes of ride time). Bookings are recommended.

If you’d like to borrow an e-bike, please note:
- Photo ID is required.
- You must be 12 years or over to borrow an e-bike.
- People under 16 years old’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Helmets are provided.
- Time limits apply to DIY test rides. Please speak with staff on the day.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before ride start time to borrow a bike from any of the companies.

Getting there:
Public Transport
The 423 and 423X bus routes passes by Steel Park via Illawarra Road. The bus stops are a directly across from the park, less that 10 metres. For timetables and more info, check out transport.info.
Active Transport:
Steel Park is conveniently located along the Cooks River Cycleway. Visitors can walk, cycle or scoot from Tempe train station to the East or Dulwich Hill train station to the west. Bike racks and bubblers are available at the park.
Car:
Limited parking is available in the car park but can be busy on weekends. It is recommended to take public transport, active transport or a ride share service.
Accessibility:
Accessible toilets are located at the entrance to Steel park, beside the car park. Contact us on info@cooksriver.org.au if you have any accessibility requirements.
