After approximately 20 months of delay, the River Restoration Project is moving ahead!
Funding was announced in July 2023 but was delayed due to negotiations between the Federal and State governments to administer the grant.

The project includes $10 million worth of infrastructure works to progress the improvement of water quality, access and amenities and increase native vegetation throughout the catchment. Key activities include:
- Waterway and access improvements in Parry Park (Canterbury Bankstown Council);
- litter reduction and access improvements (Strathfield Council);
- new canoe launch facility (Bayside Council)
- and new habitat establishment (Inner West Council).
This is a 100% Federally funded project via the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program with in-kind contributions from Alliance partners.
