Close Street, Canterbury, Close Street, Canterbury
Mudcrabs members stand behind a huge pile of plastic bottles pulled out from the river

It’s often been described as one of the most polluted rivers in Australia…Join the the Mudcrabs rid the Cooks River of a whole lot of rubbish!

Left in the river, rubbish is devastating to the wildlife and ecosystems of the Cooks River.

What to bring:

  • Gumboots or old shoes (and clothes) that can get dirty are highly recommended as it can get very muddy if you’re collecting in the mangroves!
  • Please wear “non-fluffy”/”non-sticky” clothing. This will prevent plant seeds sticking to you so we don’t spread weeds
  • Water bottle
  • Wear a hat and sunscreen

We will provide litter pickers and rubbish bags. Please bring your own gloves for attending the clean up.

All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by a guardian over the age of 18.

Where: Meet at the park at the end of Close Street, Canterbury. Limited street parking available in Close Street. More street parking available in nearby surrounding streets. A few minutes walking distance (300 metres) from Canterbury Station.

Those who are unwell on the day of the performance, display symptoms, have recently arrived from interstate, or have reason to believe they may have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID case, are not able to attend this event.
